This is the day that the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it!
Today is the day that our team will begin our journey to Kenya. So much excitement! So many last minute things to remember.
Please be in prayer as we drive to the airport on this busy day of holiday travel. Pray for safety on the roads and no delays on the highway.
If you can imagine, on the busiest travel day of the year, our team of sixteen entering the airport with eighty bags to get checked in!! Pray that our plan to arrive early to the airport works and we are able to get all checked in before the lines form for our outgoing flight.
Their will be two legs to our journey. We will be flying from Detroit to Amsterdam, having a 4 hour
layover in Amsterdam and then flying on to Nairobi. In all it will be about 20 hours from the time we fly out of Detroit until we arrive in Kenya. Our flight to Amsterdam will be through the night. Please pray that the team will be able to get some sleep during this time.
Upon arrival in Kenya we will need to get visa's for two of our team members. Visas can be purchased online and that is what we did this time. For some odd reason two team members were given receipts to show they had paid for their visas, but no visas were issued. Please pray that the receipts will be sufficient so Judi and Vicki will not have to pay a second time for their visas. Pray that their visas will be issued without delay and we will all be off together to pick up our luggage and head to customs.
Pastor Joseph and Pastor Njuru plan to meet the team in the luggage pick up area and walk with the team through customs. Please pray that all of our luggage arrives and we are able to proceed to customs without delay. Pray that as we enter customs our bags will all get through without searches and that we will not be charged taxes for the ministry items we are bringing with us.
Our team is trusting the Lord to work out all of the details. We have made our plans, but we know God's plans are the best. So thankful for His promises. Standing on Isaiah 41:10 Fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Wishing you all a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. Don't forget to "count your blessings"! Will try to write again from Amsterdam to let you know how things are going.
Thank you for your prayers. May God's blessings be with you all.
